Who is your auditor?

Many times we are faced with criticism in life. Our human instinct is to be defensive about it and our immediate reaction is, “Who are you to ask me this question?’’

This is where one has to think whether an auditor can play a constructive role in your life. Corporates spend money on appointing good auditors who can help in ensuring that their mission is achieved. As an individual, I will have to decide who has the right to question me. I will have to allow a few people in my life to act as my auditor and question my decisions and my behavior.

Initially parents act as auditors of their children. At some stage the child grows in maturity and gains more current perspective of the world. At that point of time the child has the capability to act as an auditor of the parent.

Who have you appointed as your auditor? Have you communicated this decision to the auditor? In today’s world nobody will take the effort to question you unless you have communicated your decision of appointing him as the auditor of your life.
